We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests while adhering to food safety standards.

Duties

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high quality and presentation standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to create innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area, following all food safety protocols. Manage inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and quality. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices. Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain proper food handling procedures at all times.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with expertise in knife skills, meal preparation, and cooking techniques specific to sushi. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Experience in menu planning and catering is a plus. Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is advantageous.
