Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation and fine dining. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. You will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and present sushi dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards. Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed during meal preparation and cooking. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper food handling techniques. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service times. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management. Stay updated on current trends in sushi cuisine and incorporate innovative techniques into menu offerings. Assist in training new kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation. Proficiency in knife skills and various cooking techniques specific to sushi preparation. Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred but not required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. A passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, is essential.
