We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi-making techniques. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation, while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed.

Duties

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls with precision and creativity. Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality, adhering to food safety standards. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and innovative sushi offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs for ordering supplies. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices. Stay updated on culinary trends related to sushi and Japanese cuisine to enhance menu offerings.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques with a focus on sushi-making. Experience in fine dining settings is preferred, showcasing an ability to deliver exceptional culinary experiences. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the kitchen environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independent cooking skills. Familiarity with menu planning and dietary considerations to cater to diverse customer preferences. Excellent attention to detail in presentation and flavor profiles of dishes. Passion for culinary arts with a willingness to learn new techniques and recipes related to sushi preparation.
