Responsibilities

Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation. Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Assist in food preparation tasks, including slicing fish and vegetables, cooking rice, and preparing sauces. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management for timely replenishment. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in sushi making to enhance menu offerings.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong skills in food preparation, knife techniques, and meal presentation. Knowledge of various types of fish, seafood, and other ingredients used in sushi making. Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is preferred. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
