Job Overview:

Katana sushi is currently looking for experienced Sushi Chefs.

Katana is an upscale Japanese Sushi restaurant located in Brooklyn at Carroll Gardens. Our restaurant is focused on bringing an excellent and exciting dining experience to Brooklyn. We are looking for energetic, service driven individuals with a passion for food and beverage, who want to create experiences that bring guests back.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare traditional and contemporary sushi dishes with precision and attention to detail

- Create visually appealing and delicious sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri

- Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation

- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate overall meal production

- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sushi station

- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients as needed

Skills:

- Proficiency in sushi making techniques and Japanese cuisine

- Knowledge of kitchen equipment including knives and sushi tools

- Experience in menu planning and catering for special events

- Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment

- Previous experience in a restaurant or dietary department preferred

- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the culinary team
