Overview

As a Survey Technician III/IV for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC), you will perform survey work relating to topography, boundary, and construction staking. You will lead two- or three-man survey crews under the direction of Registered Professional Surveyors. You will perform routine professional land survey work using accepted surveying practices and equipment. You will operate various modern instruments including robotic total-stations and GPS units, clear brush, drive stakes, take detailed notes, and make sketches. You will be responsible for utilizing various data collection programs to gather, retrieve, and interpret data. Additionally, you will perform minor computations as required. The position will entail travel within Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio with occasional overnight stays. You will perform survey work for commercial, institutional, solid waste, and energy clients.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of survey crew chief experience;
• S.I.T. is preferred, but not required;
• Skilled in the use of GPS devices, survey and drafting technologies, data collectors, and robotic total stations;
• Work requires independent judgment and initiative;
• Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying;
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and programs used in computer aided drafting;
• Ability to operate motorized equipment;
• Ability to work long hours outdoors under various field conditions and exposure to traffic, heat, cold, and other adverse conditions;
• Valid driver\'s license.

Here\'s What We\'d Like to See:

• Experience with Trimble & Topcon GPS and Total Stations; Trimble and Recon/Nomad Data collectors; TDS Survey Pro; Trimble Access software; and Virtual Reference Station networks;
• Associates or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, or other related field preferred;
• Experience working on Abandoned Mine Land projects, Natural Gas Pipeline projects, and Transportation projects;
• Experience with Pipeline As-Built Surveys including pipe tally reports and weld location;
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D Software.
