The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Right-of-Way, has a full-time vacancy for a Survey Team Technician II.(
SUMMARY
: To perform technical surveying duties which include assisting in operating a variety of surveying and measuring instruments.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS
: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent credential.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license
Other Requirements: Applicant's MVR must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency
Trainee Option: Not applicable
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a survey environment utilizing survey equipment.
AFTER-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:
None
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Reads preliminary and construction plans and does preliminary surveying, including running of proposed centerlines from photographs.
Runs curves and tangent lines and turns angles.
Records and compiles survey field notes.
Understands and uses geometric and trigonometric computations.
Ensures that survey instruments are maintained in good operating condition through periodic cleaning and inspection.
Operates survey instruments in the absence of the instrument operator or as assigned.
All accountabilities must be performed in accordance with State and Department rules and policies, including risk management, safety and environmental standards, regulations and administrative orders.
