Job Description

Summit Design and Engineering, one of the fastest growing companies in the Triangle area, is seeking a for a Survey Party Chief with a minimum five years\' experience in all types of surveys, including, but not limited to, construction staking, as-builts, ALTA, topographic, boundary, subdivision and NCDOT location surveys.

Responsibilities:

• Performs all types of surveys, including, but not limited to, construction staking, as-builts, ALTA, topographic, boundary and subdivision surveys.
• Plans and coordinates the efforts of the survey crew and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently.
• Assists with survey computations and data collection.
• Trains lower level techs in the use of survey equipment, survey methods and safety standards.
• Ensures accuracy and production of survey crew.
• Assists with duties of survey technicians as needed.
• Communicates with other techs as well as owners and contractors.
• Ensures that survey equipment is correctly operated and maintained.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum five years\' experience.
• GPS, RTK, VRS and robotic survey experience.
• ACAD 2018+/Civil 3D experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Ability to read maps.
• Ability to make field decision and calculations.
• Ability to develop job strategy and exercise quality control.
• Detailed oriented.
• Reliability, excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion.
• Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks.
• Must be able to lift and carry up-to 50 pounds, on regular basis
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• CAD capability.
