Overview

We are seeking a skilled Surveillance Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security and surveillance systems across various client sites. This role requires a strong technical background in low voltage systems, electrical work, and network integration. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience with a variety of security hardware and cabling. This position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects, including CCTV, fire alarms, access control, and telecommunication systems, ensuring the safety and security of our clients' facilities.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain surveillance systems including CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS, and alarm systems. Perform system design and layout using schematics and technical drawings to ensure optimal coverage. Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on security hardware such as CCTV units, sensors, fire alarms, and low voltage wiring. Manage cabling installations for security systems utilizing power tools, hand tools, and construction techniques. Integrate security systems with remote access software for monitoring and management purposes. Conduct system testing to verify proper operation and compliance with NEC standards. Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on-site and implementing effective solutions promptly. Assist with system upgrades or expansions as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed documentation of installations, service reports, schematics, and system configurations. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and recommend appropriate solutions including alarm system sales.

Experience

Proven experience as a service technician in security or telecommunication systems preferred. Strong knowledge of computer networking, computer hardware, and system design principles related to security infrastructure. Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, sensors, low voltage wiring, cabling techniques, and power tools. Mechanical knowledge related to the installation of sensors or other hardware components in construction or industrial environments. Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately for system setup and troubleshooting. Service technician experience in maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.
