Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments for a wide range of cases, including ortho (total joints/ORIF/arthroscopy), OB/GYN (C-sections, LAVH), and general surgery (Lap Appy, Lap Chole, Ex Lap). Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by anticipating needs and ensuring smooth case flow. Operate equipment such as C-arm, Mako robotic systems, ligasure, and harmonic scalpel. Follow strict infection control and safety protocols, including fit testing requirements. Participate in call rotation: 1-2 weeknights per week + 1 weekend per month + holiday call as assigned. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to maintain high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year recent Operating Room experience. Required: BLS + ND UAP. Preferred: CST or NCCT certification. Experience with total joints, C-sections, and ortho required. MAKO robotic experience highly preferred. Must pass required fit-testing protocols (no facial hair during testing).

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred).

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of aseptic technique and OR safety standards. Ability to assist in a variety of surgical specialties. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environments. Familiarity with Meditech charting is a plus.
