About the Role:

Provides technical assistance to the surgeon/physician during surgical intervention under the supervision of the RN. When not directly assisting the physician in a procedure, may participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse. Key Responsibilities;

Supports OR team in preparation for case launch, during surgical intervention procedures, and upon conclusion of OR assisting duties. Responsible for organization, care and transfer of sterile supplies to the operative field. Assumes responsibility for the safe handling and operating of mechanical, electrical, and powered equipment. Remains consistently aware of the status and progress of the surgical procedure and responds appropriately in urgent and/or emergency situations Assists health care team with the implementation of a plan of care.

Requirements:

Education

: Associates' degree preferred, Graduate of accredited Surgical Tech program preferred

Experience

: Prior Surgical Tech experience

Certification:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR, Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
