Roles & Responsibilities

First scrub on complex CVOR procedures including: Open hearts (CABG, valve replacements, aneurysms) Thoracotomies, VATS, AAA, carotids Robotic cases (ION), ECMO, Impella 5.5 Float to general OR or ortho cases when CV volume is low Willingness to assist as a 1:1 sitter to supplement hours Collaborate with charge nurses and CV team leads for scheduling
Qualifications

Minimum

2 years of recent CVOR experience

Must be able to

first scrub

on open heart procedures Willingness to cross-train and float as needed

BLS

,

CST or NCCT

, and

ND UAP

certifications required
Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in cardiovascular surgical instrumentation and sterile technique Familiarity with robotic systems and advanced OR equipment (Stryker towers) Strong adaptability and teamwork in high-acuity settings Experience with EPIC charting preferred
