Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.
Description:
At the direction of management and/or nursing personnel, assists the hospital staff/department in the provision of high quality, safe patient care
Provides basic physical care of the patient.
Demonstrates safe patient transport with stretcher, wheelchairs, and patient beds.
Performs tasks and procedures as directed according to hospital policy and procedure.
Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique.
Ensures positive customer relations interactions.
Actively participates in unit activities.
Aid in Surgical Procedures and certain basic circulating functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse in the Operating Room.
On Call required-weeknights, weekends, and holiday picked by rotation.
Requirements:
High School Diploma and/or Equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
