We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with specialized experience in surgical procedures, including implant placements, extractions, and other complex oral surgeries. Responsibilities



Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up surgical trays, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear operative field using aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays and CBCT to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Monitor vital signs and patient comfort levels before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on post-operative care instructions, medication usage, and oral hygiene practices tailored to surgical treatments. Manage medical records and documentation with precision, including medical coding where applicable for billing purposes. Support the dental receptionist by coordinating patient appointments and providing excellent customer service. Uphold infection control standards by following strict sterilization protocols and maintaining a sterile environment at all times. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners to facilitate precise surgical planning. Assist in various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry as needed. Collaborate effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency and patient outcomes. Stay current with industry best practices related to medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental assisting techniques.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on surgical procedures within a dental clinic environment. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft record-keeping and documentation management. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Familiarity with dental radiography including X-ray techniques and medical imaging tools. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe surgical assistance. Ability to perform vital signs monitoring accurately and handle medical documentation efficiently. Skilled in chairside assisting with expertise in four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow efficiency during complex procedures. Familiarity with advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners is advantageous. Excellent communication skills coupled with professionalism to foster positive patient interactions. Ongoing continuing education is encouraged to stay current with industry developments. Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
