Rogers Group is currently seeking a Surface/Plant Foreman for one of our surface limestone operations, Caldwell Stone Quarry, located in Danville, KY. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:


Responsibilities:


Supervising up to 12 quarry/mine employees and plant operations in a limestone surface mine. Efficiently supervise production and of a .6M TPY operation. Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures. Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions. Plan the daily operation scheduling of plant production to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements, and work procedures in regard to mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and shipping. Assist plant manager to control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings. Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement. Effectively manage direct reports by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and providing development through training. Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations. Assist in budgeting and forecasting. Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with QC department. Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community.
Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or equivalent time spent in related field is strongly preferred with emphasis on fixed plant maintenance & repair procedures. Minimum of 3 years of experience in quarry mining or related field. Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles is a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to develop leadership at the hourly and lead person levels. Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance & repair activities, production and safety excellence. Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA Part 46 & 48 safety standards. Possess strong basic math knowledge Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices. Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus but not necessary Proficient in the Microsoft Windows suit is a plus.
