Shift: Shift 2

Work Schedule: 8 Hr (2:30:00 PM - 11:00:00 PM)

Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Security and/or the appropriate designee the supervisor is charged with directing the subordinate officer personnel under his/her authority and is further responsible for ensuring and maintaining maximum security for patients, visitors, employees and students of Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). The Security Supervisor will report and document all infractions of rules, regulations and policies of RUMC including all federal, state and local laws and ordinances. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and I-CARE values. Acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Assumes command and supervision of security officers on daily basis.
Inspects posts and observes the efficiency of personnel assigned.
Conduct liaison between the security department and other ROPH entities.
Train, evaluate and discipline subordinate personnel.
Participate in the recruitment and interview process of security officers.
Perform dispatch duties as required.
Generates and reviews various administrative documents including but not limited to; daily work schedules, payroll, audits, and drills.
Monitor and reports infractions of rules, policies and procedures. Make appropriate recommendations to the Director of Security or designee for corrective action.
Conduct investigations as directed and/or required.
Assists local police agencies during investigations or emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned or necessitated by departmental need.
Intelligent, emotionally stable, with unquestionable moral character, integrity and the ability to handle confidential matters.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize workload.
Ability to work various shifts; including weekends as assignments dictate.
Outstanding customer service skills.
All other duties as assigned

Other information:
Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred or 5 years of relevant work experience/field experience
Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare, law enforcement or corporate security environment preferred.
Must pass existing RUMC physical examination/qualifications for Security Officers.
Must possess a valid driver s license (IL, IN or WI) at the time of application. Must have a prior driving record deemed acceptable to RUMC based upon the results of a Motor Vehicle Report check conducted by Human resources.
Must obtain Illinois Department of Professional Regulations Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) within 60 days of employment.
Must possess or obtain International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification at the Basic and Supervisory levels within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
