Job Summary



The Pre-Services Document Support is responsible for transcribing faxed physician orders for ancillary outpatient hospital procedures into EPIC for them to be scheduled. Performs quality assurance on all physician orders received to ensure they are valid and complete. Works within the document management system, OnBase, to index incoming electronic faxes into patient's medical record/account and disseminate information received via fax to the appropriate HonorHealth staff. Contacts physician offices to request amended or new orders for incorrect, invalid, or incomplete orders. Contacts other imaging entities to request copies of prior diagnostic imaging films and reports. Appropriately documents the electronic medical record of all activity performed within patient's medical record. May serve as back-up to the Pre-Services Admissions Associate.

Essential Functions



Transcribes incoming faxed physician orders that need to be scheduled into electronic medical record. Audits all incoming faxed physician orders for validity and contact ordering physician offices for revised or new orders, when needed. Contacting via call or fax to other entities or physician offices to request prior imaging films. Index incoming non-order documents in OnBase and disseminates documents appropriately. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education



High School Diploma or GED - Required

Experience



6 months of medical terminology or medical office experience - Required
