This role supports end-to-end materials flow using best-practice replenishment methods such as safety stock optimization, reorder point management, demand analysis, and contract utilization. This is an in-person role based at our facility in Fall River.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities
Execute purchase orders aligned with demand forecasts and production requirements.
Track open orders, expedite when needed, and communicate risk areas to stakeholders.
Flag material availability issues early and support mitigation plans with suppliers.
Plan and procure raw materials to support production and inventory strategies.
Coordinate inter-company material transfers to maintain supply continuity.
Perform weekly demand checks and engage suppliers proactively when major shifts occur.
Resolve PO/invoice discrepancies, vendor returns, and quality-related issues.
Support product/BOM updates, material transitions, and onboarding of new suppliers or components.
Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to maintain optimized stocking parameters.
Adhere to ISO procedures and documentation requirements.
Participate as an active contributor within the global purchasing network.
Build and maintain production schedules aligned with demand, capacity, and material availability.
Track work orders, identify bottlenecks, and adjust schedules to maintain production targets.
Assess capacity/resource needs and recommend process or planning enhancements.
Provide weekly schedule updates to manufacturing teams; keep customer service informed.
Partner with supervisors to ensure materials, labor, and equipment readiness for scheduled jobs.
Additional Responsibilities
Represent Purchasing in cross-functional initiatives that drive operational and business goals.
Maintain strong supplier relationships to support high-performance service levels.
Support internal customers with solutions, alternative supply options, and clear communication.
Champion compliance with all procurement and corporate policies.
Collaborate closely with the planning team to ensure seamless operational execution.
Requirements:
Business or technical degree preferred; 3-5 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing setting ideal. Candidates currently pursuing a related degree are welcome.
Foundational understanding of supply chain concepts with a strong interest in developing deeper expertise.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and solid Excel proficiency; willingness to learn advanced tools and processes.
Strong analytical mindset, structured problem-solving, and the ability to manage competing priorities with urgency and accuracy.
Independent working style with a high sense of ownership, balanced by strong teamwork and cross-functional communication skills.
Proactive, solution-driven approach with attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
LEAN exposure is a plus; ability to travel as needed.
