Supply Chain Specialist


Leggett & Platt’s Inc is seeking to hire a Supply Chain Specialist to ensure our production schedule is protected and material inventory requirements are met. This fast-paced role supports our Adjustable Bed Division, working from one of our manufacturing facilities Georgetown, Kentucky or Carthage MO or remotely with the right candidate. The right individual will provide excellent procurement services while working with our vendors to manage our supply chain.


What you’ll do

  • Manage purchase orders for both domestic and international suppliers
  • Create processes and methods to gather supply chain data
  • Understand customer demand and react accordingly to market demands
  • Consolidate data from multi-site organization to accurately forecast and place orders
  • Expedite outstanding purchase orders to meet production demands
  • Initiate cancellation of orders to maintain acceptable inventory levels
  • Track KPI’s and report on supply chain’s performance
  • Examine current processes to identify shortcomings and implement or recommend improvements
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external contacts

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management
  • Fundamental understanding of transportation, supply chain, procurement and logistics concepts
  • Ability to analyze large and multi-dimensional data sets using SQL, Access, Excel, and other analysis tools.
  • Analytical mind with business acumen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in MRP environment
  • Working knowledge of crystal reporting
  • Microsoft Dynamic AX experience
