To promote optimal trauma care in the context of a regionalized trauma care system by monitoring and evaluating nursing care of trauma patients and the coordination of QI and patient safety programs for the trauma center in conjunction with the Trauma Medical Director. This includes clinical activities; professional and public education; research activities; quality improvement activities; maintaining the trauma registry; and administrative functions. Acts as a resource person to all patient care areas regarding nursing care as related to the trauma patient. Manages care by maintaining effective lines of communication with all concerned parties. The Trauma Coordinator is responsible for the overseeing and management of the trauma programs for CHI St. Vincent.
Responsibilities

Works closely with the hospital staff, administrators, department heads, patient care managers and Nursing staff to coordinate all aspects of trauma care at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary.

  • Provides/coordinates in-services education for the trauma team.
  • Supervises and evaluates overall trauma team performance, including trauma registrars.
  • Participates in and coordinates planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the trauma program.
  • Coordinates nursing care aspects of the trauma program with appropriate patient care managers and assists in the development of problem lists and protocols for trauma care.
  • Establishes, reviews, and revises protocols setting priorities for care.
Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in nursing (or in progress)

CEN or CCRN are preferred

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in emergency nursing or critical care and in the care of the trauma patients, with advanced critical care skills

Current RN licensure for the state of Arkansas upon hire.
ACLS - within 6 months
BLS-CPR - upon hire
PALS - within 12 months
TNCC - within 12 months
Pay Range
$31.92 - $46.29 /hour
