Expected pay for this position is $25.10 - $29.54/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sterile Processing Supervisor plans and directs the cleaning, sterilization, and processing of surgical instrument trays and the surgical case cart system for Surgical Services, multiple procedure suites, and outlying patient care areas. The Supervisor oversees all the sterile processing staff. The Supervisor is a leader of the sterile processing team who performs a variety of tasks and activities to meet the hospitalaEUR(TM)s needs consistent with the scope of practice for an unlicensed practitioner. The Supervisor manages multiple demands on his/her time to support the activities of the Surgical Services staff, meet the needs of the areas served, assist with decontamination of supplies and instruments, prepare packs for and completing sterilization of supplies and instruments, stocking/supplies, and supervises staffaEUR(TM)s work to ensure the department meets sterilization standards and is compliant at all times

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School/GED

Experience: 2 years experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician. Knowledge of sterile technique and operating room procedures and equipment.

Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Supervisory experience in decontamination, sterilization and processing of surgical trays, carts and equipment in an acute care, ambulatory surgical setting or related surgical operations Qualified to obtain IAHCSMM or CBSPD certification
