Overview

Novant Health is seeking a Supv Oncology Nursing to serve as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Supv Oncology Nursing utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Supv Oncology Nursing accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education: 2 Year Associate Degree Required. 4 Year Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree Preferred.
  • Experience: 3 years Nursing Experience, required. 4 years Oncology Nursing Experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state Required, ONS Chemotherapy Provider, Preferred, Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Will allow candidate to earn OCN certification in the two year period following employment.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): Excellent human relation skills, possess effective oral and written communication skills, possess leadership and problem solving skills, operate personal computer independently. Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care. Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possesses knowledge of NMG/FMC policies/standards. Demonstrates self-directed learning through completion of any orientation requirements, nursing certification/updates and continuing education programs. Possesses clinical assessment skills relative to the hematology or oncology patient/family. Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer.
