Primary Responsibilities:
This role oversees the management of Electric Boats government furnished material and special property for the Virginia and Columbia class submarines. This position ensures proper management of government spares and supports all aspects of daily departmental operations.Supervise hourly and salary departmental personnel
Promote safety, accountability, and process improvements
Must be familiar with a variety of standard concepts, practices/procedures, and company policies
Utilize metrics that measure incoming and outgoing demands, along with experience and judgment to plan and accomplish department/organization goals
Ability to work with Electric Boat operating systems
Responsible for processing incoming material from vendor to Government
Plan, develop, and execute both short and long term inventory and material goals
Actively promote and support EBQP Process Improvement System and attain facility departmental goals
Collaborate with the EBQP Process Improvement Team to define and eliminate waste to reduce cost of material handling
Apply individual creativity and latitude
Manage rejection components
Must be able to document processes and provide training to team members
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Qualifications:
Required:High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 3 years of supply-chain experience to include the technical processes of warehousing
A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
Must be available to work all shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)
Must understand safe operating procedures for various forklifts as well as understand and be able to work with EB Inventory Tracking system
Must be very well versed in warehouse concepts and business systems
Must be able to manage functions that include warehouse and material distribution areas
Must be flexible and able to work in all warehouse areas
Ability to understand and be able to learn Microsoft Excel, Word, Power-Point
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
Preferred:Associates degree or higher in Business or Supply Chain Management
