The Supervisor, Laboratory is responsible for overseeing the technical administration and operation of assigned laboratory areas (chemistry/special chemistry, urinalysis/serology, microbiology, blood bank, or hematology/coagulation). The Supervisor performs and oversees clinical diagnostic/serological testing to aid the physician and clinical care team in the diagnosis/treatment of the patient.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Medical laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited institution; or Bachelor's degree in a related field of science may be accepted with required certification.
License: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology - MT (ASCP), or equivalent certification as an MT/MLS.
Experience: Three years of clinical experience as an MT or MLS with experience leading a team or project.
