Overview:
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Supervisor Consumer Loan Underwriting. Primary Function: Supervise the daily operations and employees related to the underwriting of consumer loans. Coordinate the workflow for assigned employees, set deadline, ensure procedures are compliant and followed. The Supervisor Consumer Loan Underwriting will review the underwriting area processes and procedures for continuous improvement. Responsibilities:

• Supervise the underwriting of consumer loans to Credit Union standards. Ensure the consumer loan underwriting team possess a high level of individual accountability for delivering results within attainable deadlines and industry and regulatory standards.

• Provide supervision, coaching, training, development, and performance evaluations of staff. Measure and coach staff in regards to productivity, quality, sales and goals.

• Conduct regular department meetings, one on one meetings and training sessions. Interview and hire new staff as needed.

• Monitor consumer lending queues and ensure adequate staffing to meet operational deadline and service levels.

• Monitor consumer lending underwriters' override decisions and recommend loan exceptions outside policy and procedure to Manager of Consumer Underwriting.

• Initiate and implement process improvement to enhance member experience and increase department efficiencies.

• Participate in development and enhancement of consumer loan products. Provide recommendations and work collaboratively with cross-functional areas to support implementation of new products.

• Support the consumer lending management team to contribute ideas to increase loan growth.

• Act as the first point of escalation for member issues. Respond to internal/external customers regarding complaints, problems, lending policy clarification and procedural issues.

• Assist management with researching of internal/external audit findings and complete any corrections and implement any necessary procedural changes.
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

• Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
• Associate's Degree preferred
• Minimum 2 Years consumer, direct and indirect, and/or residential underwriting experience required
• Minimum 2 Years Supervisory experience preferably in the lending environment preferred

Salary Range: G 26 $75,541.46 - $88,678.02 Annually
