Why does the job exist?



This position will assist the NMCD Inspector General in developing American Correctional Association (ACA)

and Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) operating policies/procedures while providing guidance to ensure

compliance within NMCD facilities with ACA Standards, Federal Correctional Standards, PREA, NMCD

standard operating policies/procedures, post orders, regulations, and administrative directions. This position

will supervise compliance officers in all NMCD Facilities.

How does it get done?



Assist in oversight and compliance with ACA Accreditation and PREA Certification within NMCD. Identify and analyze compliance monitoring tools, post orders, operating procedures, and regulations. Manage external review cycles and standardize data, tracking and reporting. Recommend process improvement and standardization in operational areas. Establish a training program for new and existing compliance managers. Support as needed with investigation reviews, data tracking, trends and reporting to state and federal entities. Conduct performance reviews. Develop, maintain, update and revise compliance tools and operating procedures. Assist in development, maintenance, and schedule of the current audit schedule and 3-year audit schedule as required. Review and audit various processes and oversee the correction action plan process. Prepare statistical reports and tracking logs. Work in conjunction with each division of NMCD, external stakeholders and organizations.

Minimum Qualification



Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in investigations, regulation, policy, statutory, and/or contract compliance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements



This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing,

in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol

and/or drug testing. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions



Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
