Job Summary:

Maintains responsibility for planning, developing, coordinating and implementing hospital related education programs. Works to assist in the personal and professional growth of staff. Coordinates the creation, implementation, and tracking of education programs. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master\'s Degree: Preferred
  • Five years\' technical experience: Preferred
  • Experience in performing, evaluating, instructing, and coaching all aspects of the delivery of pre-hospital care: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Preferred
Essential Functions:
  • Assists in the development of an orientation program and a system of continuing education. Actively participates in and/or develop a process for the evaluation and/or selection of equipment. Develops education process to include course objectives, examinations and manuals for use as lesson plans. Conducts and coordinates National Registry examinations. Conducts orientation classes, basic first aid and other basic nursing skills courses. Works with local physician advisory groups.
  • Maintains and meets expectations for all competencies, licenses, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), the Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Identifies, develops and implements quality improvement (QI) programs to assure clinical excellence. Designs programs to include proactive and retrospective elements of QI concerning clinical call reviews, chart reviews, and trend analysis for both individual and group clinical performance.
  • Plans and educates department managers in the development of performance/skill competencies. Acts as a consultant in the implementation and evaluation of competency program.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
