The Field Superintendent participates in overseeing job site safety, quality, project scheduling, and communications with the client, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, architect and consultants on field and constructability issues. Local travel is required. This position reports to the VP/General Superintendent.
Work Functions & Responsibilities
The Field Superintendent will be responsible for:
Report to work on-time, without excessive absenteeism, ready to work, and conform to the required company policies and procedures to perform work being assigned.
Lead and oversee projects, ensuring timely completion, quality control, and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Planning and Coordination: Assist in developing detailed project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and material procurement, in collaboration with project customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Supervision and Leadership: Manage a team of field staff, including subcontractors, and trade workers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure the successful execution of projects.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that all trade installations and systems comply with relevant regulations, and project specifications.
Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project expenses, review cost reports, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality standards.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations,
promoting a safe work environment for all team members, clients, vendors and subcontractors.
Communication and Collaboration: Maintain effective communication channels with project clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of field experience
Experience supporting ground up commercial construction projects.
Leadership Skills: Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams on complex construction projects.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse project stakeholders.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional planning, time management, and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Safety Consciousness: Thorough knowledge of construction safety standards and practices, with a commitment to promoting a culture of safety on-site.
