Job Description
Sun Sailor Newspapers has openings for a community editor in the western suburban metro.
Our community editors cover education, local government, business and features in the communities where they are assigned. We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for people who want to work in all aspects of community journalism\xe2\x80\x94reporting, photography, digital storytelling and page layout. If you are passionate about community journalism and can share compelling stories that happen every day, this may be your perfect job. Make a difference in the community where you work.
Successful candidates must be flexible, attentive to detail, able to communicate concisely and capable in photography. New college graduates encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
\xe2\x80\x93 The ability to create content for our digital and print products and use social media to engage our audience is essential.
\xe2\x80\x93 Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, AP Style and online content management systems would be helpful.
\xe2\x80\x93 Education or experience in journalism or a related field is preferred.
\xe2\x80\x93 A valid driver\'s license, reliable vehicle and driving record insurable by the company.
