Job Description

Position Objective:




The Redwood Camp ("RWC") Activities Lead works with the RWC Director, the Redwood Camp Program Coordinator, and the Director of Children's Ministries to develop, implement, and oversee RWC program in a manner consistent with MHA's mission, vision and values.

General Qualifications:




The RWC Activities Lead is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.'s ("MHA") mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA's Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.

Key Job Accountabilities:




Develop, implement, direct, and oversee RWC program. Actively participate in all aspects of camp program, portraying teamwork, hard work ethic, and fellowship. Coordinate daily activities and games to promote teamwork, enthusiasm and participation. Maintain an organized and stocked inventory of recreational equipment, reporting all needs to RWC Administrative Coordinator. Provide assistance in miscellaneous projects relating to Program. Share in the responsibilities of keeping camp areas including workspaces and supplies clean and orderly. Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:



RWC Counselors. Program personnel that assists with program implementation.

Education/Certifications/Licenses



High school graduate; college graduate preferred. Must be CPR/First Aid certified (before arriving at camp).



Work Experience:



Previous experience working with primary and junior youth preferred. Prior experience in leadership roles in camp settings preferred. Familiarity with RWC ministry preferred but not required.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



Love for children of all ages is essential. Effective leader and communicator who is organized and flexible, being able to adjust to challenging situations. Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles. Imaginative and passionate with the ability to think creatively. Ability to maintain strong, team-oriented work ethic in conjunction with general program staff. Emotionally mature and willing to accept responsibility. Ability to lead and teach with patience and clear instruction. Motivated and able to lead with empathy and discipline. Must be prepared to problem solve on the job. A heart to server wherever and whoever is in need.



Physical Demands:




The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires climbing, sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and hiking.


Additional Requirements:



Must be at least 18 years of age due to requirement for onsite community living. Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA's Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements. Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance. * Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
