As a Summer Program Director, you will play a central role in delivering an unforgettable learning experience for thousands of students each summer. Based at our Roseville office, you will oversee the daily operations of our STEM camps, lead a team of 100+ seasonal staff, and ensure that each program is engaging, safe, and high-quality. Your leadership will drive seamless logistics, effective communication, and a culture of mentorship that inspires staff and empowers students.
What you'll do
Lead the day-to-day operations of summer STEM programs across multiple partner sites.
Supervise, coach, and mentor 100+ seasonal instructors and assistants, ensuring engaging, student-centered teaching.
Coordinate logistics, staffing schedules, and communication with partner schools and site contacts.
Communicate daily via phone and email with staff and community partner directors to ensure smooth operations and quick issue resolution.
Act as the primary administrative leader in the Roseville office, collaborating with Field Managers and technical staff.
Provide decisive leadership, problem-solving, and rapid response to daily program challenges.
Facilitate pre-season training, modeling effective teaching and classroom management strategies.
Ensure safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for students and staff.
Occasionally travel to partner sites to deliver supplies, provide backup support, or substitute as needed. (When field managers are unavailable)
Schedule & Commitment
Training & Prep (April - Early June):
Up to 10 hours per week; mostly flexible/remote with some required in-person and virtual meetings.
Help conduct in person training sessions for new staff (3-4 evening and Saturdays)
Includes ~20 hours of online curriculum training.
Summer Program (Early June - Mid/Late August):
Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week.
Typical schedule: Mon-Thu (7:00 AM-5:00 PM) and Fri (8:00 AM-Noon).
Exact dates: Start between June 1-15, end between Aug 14-28 (flexible for the right candidate).
Qualifications:
Proven leadership experience in supervision and decision-making.
Prior experience managing young adults, educators, childcare staff, or camp staff.
Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to mentor, coach, and hold staff accountable.
Adaptability and comfort in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Comfortable working with technology in office and camp settings.
Commitment to completing pre-season curriculum training.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the Twin Cities Metro.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in teaching, camp leadership, or school administration.
Experience in youth programs, summer camps, or classroom teaching.

Competitive seasonal salary (based on experience), with mileage stipends and training provided.
