We're hiring for substitute teacher positions at our partnering schools located in Chicago, Illinois. Must have a valid Illinois Substitute Teacher license: you can apply for yours on the Illinois State Board of Education website, www.isbe.net. Highly qualified teachers who hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) are encouraged to apply for immediate advancement/direct-hire opportunities. Must have at least one year of experience working with students from grades K - 12. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Requirements include:

Professional, punctual, and productive Type 39 Illinois Substitute Teaching License Reliable transportation or access to public transportation Must be able to pass a criminal background check Strong soft skills - including interpersonal communication skills Ability to establish professional working relationships with students, staff, and school administrators
General Job Duties include:

Teaching school-aged children and young adults from grades K - 12 Facilitate lesson plans Manage classroom and/or small groups Adhere to school policies Communicate daily outcomes to lead teachers Maintain professional appearance - business casual dress code Demonstrate fairness and respect to all students and fellow teachers Commitment to fulfill assignment duties Travel to school by designated arrival time Respond to job inquiries in a timely manner
All team members are required to submit to a fingerprint-based FBI background check, Tuberculosis (TB) test, physical exam, and mandated reporter training.
