Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated and empathetic Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. This role involves providing individual and group counseling services to adults struggling with substance use disorders. You will work in a relaxed, non-corporate environment where your input is valued, your time is respected, and micromanagement is not part of our culture.

No billable hours.

Responsibilities

Facilitate individual and group substance use counseling sessions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Conduct Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessments (CDAs) Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation Collaborate with a supportive team of counselors and leadership Provide crisis support and case management as needed Attend staff meetings and training opportunities

Qualifications

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Substance Abuse Disorder Associate (SUDA) credentials required

SUDA

: Associate's degree and current Idaho SUDA credential

CADC

: Bachelor's degree and current Idaho CADC certification

LPC or higher

: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field and current Idaho licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.) Must be able to pass a background check Must have all licenses and certifications available at time of hire Experience in substance use counseling preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Passion for helping others and being part of a positive, client-centered team Proficient in behavioral therapy and addiction counseling Strong skills in patient assessment, medical documentation, and HIPAA compliance Experience with crisis intervention and group therapy Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing techniques Familiarity with medical terminology and records management
