This role requires a commitment to patient care, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a therapeutic environment, managing a caseload and clients in a residential halfway house treatment program at our
Vineland
location.

Duties
Completes
NJSAMS
intakes.
Assesses
clients using the ASI or other standardized clinical interview tool & diagnosing clients for substance use disorder using the DSM-5.
Conducts individual and group therapy sessions focused on addiction counseling and recovery strategies, and documents in EMR system -
KIPU
.
Documenting
all counseling and education services, assessments, reassessments, referrals and follow-up in clients' clinical record, and provides appropriate signatures, and timely dating of such entries, including those made in electronic records.
Develops and implements personalized
treatment plans
based on patient assessments and progress; clinical charting as required.
Utilizes various therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Therapy, to support clients in overcoming their substance use challenges.
Provides [family] counseling as needed, ensuring that family dynamics are addressed in the treatment process.
Maintains accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with ICD-10 standards and regulations.
Engages in home community care initiatives to support clients outside of the clinical setting.
Development of the client discharge/continuum of care plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care (
ASAM
).
Reviews clients throughout the treatment episode as per the ASAM criteria, to determine the need for continued services, transfer, or discharge/transfer
Maintains client caseload (including all case management and utilization review updates and documents in
KIPU
).
Facilitates educational workshops and support groups for the clients to promote awareness of substance abuse issues.
Contacts, case consultation [if necessary], and coordination with referral sources, (i.e. mental health treatment providers, criminal justice agencies, schools, employers, DCP&P).
Collaborates with other internal team members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and support.
Attends weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting for assigned clients. Participate in supervision.
Qualifications
Three years of proven experience
in substance abuse counseling or related fields such as psychotherapy or behavioral therapy
is a must
.
Undergraduate degree in human services; master's degree preferred LCADC, preferred CADC or ability to receive credential within three (3) years of hire.
Certifications in addiction counseling are preferred
.
Strong knowledge of addiction treatment methodologies and familiarity with ICD-10 coding practices.
12-step programming
.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written*, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations. Organizational and administrative skills. Able to work independently and under pressure; effectively manage a high-volume caseload; Ability to meet deadlines.
Empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach towards clients struggling with substance use disorders.
Knowledge with recovery court.
Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of substance abuse treatment.
