Summary

Assists in the McCray Gallery.

Duties

1. Assists Gallery Director.

2. Assists in hosting events and hanging shows.

3. Designs flyers.

4. Creates publicity materials.

5. Paints walls and floors.

6. Prepares refreshments for events.

7. Maintains inventory kitchen materials.

8. Maintains gallery hours during exhibits.

9. Participates in Expressive Arts Department student recruitment events.

10. Provides a broad range of administrative functions. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external). Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Background

Current WNMU student. Graphic Design experience a plus.

Job Knowledge

Excellent customer service and communication skills. Skill in general office duties and office equipment to include telephones, copier, Fax, and computer/computer programs. Must be knowledgeable of University policies and procedures. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications.

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations)

Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (e.g., artworks, furniture). Prolonged standing and walking during gallery hours and events. Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment used in installation. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/ conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing, and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
