ELIGIBILITY:
Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:
Academic Calendar Year 2025/2026
WORK SCHEDULE:
Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Requires working some evenings and weekends during production. May work up to 19 hours per week.
DRESS CODE:
Casual black clothing with appropriate coverage; closed-toed footwear is required
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:
Under minimal supervision, supports the Theatre Arts Department production and/or supervisor
POSITION DUTIES:
Performs design and/or design execution and technical production support
Provides "Front of House/Running Crew" support; and
May perform other like duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and
Ability to work with a minimal level of supervision and is self-motivated; and
Ability to design and execute designs in specified area (lighting, sound, costumes, etc.); and
Possesses light construction skills; and
Possess customer service skills; and
Ability to problem-solving and follow directions; and
Possesses a cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, students and the public
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Theatre coursework
Experience working in a theatre
STUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT:
Communication skills, facilities management, critical thinking, planning, collaboration, customer service, leadership, experience working with performing artists, professionalism
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
