Job Summary/Basic Function
Brief :
The Student Program Manager is an essential part of the Peer Mentor Program and Office of Mentoring Programs. The Student Program Manager will support the Mentor Advisor with administrative tasks and project management of program specific initiatives including mentee recruitment, campus partnerships, outreach, programming, and other duties as assigned. The Student Program Manager will work under the supervision of the Mentor Advisor and will be required to attend and participate in training, staff meetings, etc., throughout the year as well as demonstrate a commitment to their team and the department goals and expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
The Student Program Manager is expected to be a positive leader and representative within the student staff of the Peer Mentor Program. It is also expected that they are able to demonstrate an ability to work with diverse populations, professionalism, excellent communication and listening skills, responsibility, accountability, integrity, and a desire to learn, grow and develop as a leader.
Administrative Tasks
Provides administrative and clerical support for the program, including basic secretarial and office duties, facility scheduling, event coordination, etc.
Assist with the tracking and assessment of mentoring data
Assist and support the preparation and implementation of all staff/team meetings
Represent Peer Mentor Program & Office of Mentoring programs across campus through formal and informal outreach (class presentations, campus committees, etc.)
Assist with maintaining the program's database, new student data entry, student referrals, etc. (Google sheets, forms, etc.)
Co-facilitate the program's use of Starfish (new staff set-up, access spreadsheets, data reports)
Monitor mentor-mentee matches & program's email account and interest forms.
Manage program office supplies, inventory and organization
Support Peer Mentor Leads and Mentor Advisor with various administrative tasks
Assist with managing and tracking program budget
Project Management
Work with Mentor Advisor and student staff in planning and implementing program-specific initiatives (outreach, mentor development, programming, etc.)
Assist PMP team with coordinating resources and staff to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with Office of Mentoring programs staff, campus partners, and student staff
Work alongside Peer Mentor Leads in coordinating communication and representation for program outreach & recruitment
Create & maintain project documentation and tracking (Asana, Google Drive, etc.)
Required Qualifications
Education:
2.5 GPA or higher
Full time (12 credits or more, or as required by graduate program)
FAFSA/Work Study eligible preferred
Experience:
Must demonstrate an ability or desire to work effectively with various and different student populations,
Experience working with confidential information.
Skills:
Ability to demonstrate professionalism, respect, and positive customer service
Ability to learn and use Canva, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and timelines for assigned projects.
Punctual, detail-oriented & self-starter
Excellent interpersonal & written communication skills (presenting/communicating information, actively listening, mediating, conflict management)
Ability to work independently and work with faculty, staff, & students
Quick learner, willing to be flexible in a constantly growing environment.
