Utah Valley University's Hospitality Management (WARM) is seeking a tutor who can provide academic support to students. As a tutor, you will be responsible for assisting students from various backgrounds and skill levels in understanding concepts and content material.

Summary of Responsibilities

Tutor students (individually and in groups) by appointment and/or drop-in, in assigned courses and content material. On top of face-to-face tutoring, tutors may be assigned to the online tutoring lab.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Must be a current UVU student Minimum 3.0 GPA Grade B or higher in HM 3150

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Well-versed in study skills and strategies Creative problem solvers who can find new approaches to challenges Excellent communicators who can adapt their teaching for a variety of needs and backgrounds Reliable, has strong time and task-management skills

Effective tutors can:Collaborate with students to enhance their content knowledge Communicate complex ideas and concepts in a clear, concise, and friendly manner Read, write, and otherwise convey ideas in English Maintain confidentiality Cultivate professional relationships with staff, faculty, and students
