Description
Snow College Counseling & Wellness Center is seeking a licensed mental health professional to provide counseling to college students on our Richfield campus. The position will be between 6 and 10 hours per week, scheduled on one or two days per week, to begin with, and may increase over time. The counseling sessions must occur during regular business hours. Consultation with campus faculty and staff and providing an occasional workshop on mental health issues may be requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a Master\'s degree in a field eligible for state licensure to provide mental health counseling in the state of Utah. (Psychologist, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Work).
The successful candidate must be licensed, or provisionally licensed and eligible to provide counseling services in the state of Utah.
The successful candidate must be able to work without direct supervision on site.
The successful candidate must be able to attend occasional staff meetings on the Ephraim Snow College Campus and/or attend via an online meeting platform.
Excellent people and communication skills, written and verbal.
Integrity, professional ethics, and professionalism.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience in outpatient, short term treatment.
Previous experience working with young adults ages 17-24.
Background in alcohol and substance abuse prevention or treatment.
Effective group dynamic and crisis intervention skills.
Accurately prepare and maintain records and reports.
Background check of the successful candidate.
Major Responsibilities/Duties
Provide assessment, and short-term focused individual, couples and group therapy for currently enrolled students.
Serve as consultant and resource for faculty and staff regarding the mental health of individual students and the factors affecting the adjustment and mental health of the student population.
Consult with and make referral to other professionals and outside agencies.
Maintain accurate, timely case files that meet professional standards.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Counselor/Therapist will report to the Director of the Counseling and Wellness Center.
