The opportunity
The Office of Sustainability at Southern New Hampshire University is hiring two passionate and community-driven students to serve as Tree Ambassador Eco-Reps as part of a broader initiative to enhance urban forestry in underserved neighborhoods with the City of Manchester. These Eco-Reps, funded through the Urban Forest Equity Planning and Implementation grant, will play a key role in increasing tree canopy coverage, engaging the community, and promoting environmental justice in the City. Tree Ambassador Eco-Reps will receive training in arboriculture and urban forestry best practices, gaining valuable experience in the field while contributing to the City's green spaces. Tree Ambassador Eco-Reps will spend most of their time working directly with City staff, and directly in Manchester neighborhoods. Local residence and individual transportation are preferred.
These positions are ideal for a freshman or sophomore with an interest in community engagement, environmental education & health, and botany, forestry, trees, & nature in general! All majors are welcome, especially students pursuing environmental science, biology, or education.
All on-campus Eco-Reps will be required to support major events which include Good Stuff Donation Campaign in the Winter and Spring, and other major events that need core team member support.
