POSITION SUMMARY

The Fabricator is responsible for understanding blueprints and welding techniques to execute the highest standards of welding performance.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Interpret blueprints to fabricate structural steel
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
Set up components for welding equipment in accordance to specifications (e.g., cut material with a gas torch to match measurements)
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
Keep work areas clean and organized

REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience as welder
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (flux-core, MIG weld)
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (grinders, squares, tape measures, hand tools)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.)
Attention to detail
Ability to learn safe overhead crane operations
Proficient in English

Bilingual is a plus
Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
