Proven experience as a structural fitter or in a similar role
Proven experience in construction site environments is preferred
Familiarity with fabrication processes and mechanical knowledge is essential
Strong understanding of basic math principles for accurate measurements, fitting, fabricating, and assembling structural parts for marine vessels.
Reading and interpreting blueprints to ensure precision in your work.
Layout and fit-up of steel plate and beam structures.
Using a torch to burn and bevel metal components.
Maintaining fit-up tolerances and working within strict specifications.
Ensuring quality and safety standards are met across all tasks.
Candidate must be able to pass assessment:
Candidate will test on carbon plates with bevel. Tape weld the first pass then upon approval, a vertical pass and then an overhead pass on the same plate.
Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability
Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
Work in all types of weather.
Lift, move, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Candidates must provide their own PPE and Tools.
