Job Description



The Strategy Advancement Advisor provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for the Insurance Controller and Trend Analytics & Forecasting (TAF) team, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President. The Strategy Advancement Advisor requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment. Responsibilities The Insurance Controller and Trend Analytics & Forecasting (TAF) team is looking for a seasoned leader to lead strategic planning and business management for the team. The primary objective of this leader is to ensure that the Controller and TAF teams deliver strong business and financial results and do so efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic annual planning support \xe2\x80\x93 Collaborate with senior team members to determine and prioritize business strategies. Coordinate with leadership to complete vision / mission / goals and articulate of strategic priorities. Shape the team\xe2\x80\x99s vision, principles, and other far-reaching strategy documents. Direct dependencies and other inter-related efforts across teams (especially when priorities conflict), and facilitate work by ensuring teams have the resources they need.
  • Manage the office and rhythm of business - Establish, document, and mature repeatable processes for critical business functions that occur on a regular cadence like budget planning, strategic planning, headcount planning, along with the overall planning and execution tempo of financial and operational support forums. Partner with human resources, finance, operations, actuarial, procurement, and legal among other teams to ensure the organization\xe2\x80\x99s smooth operation.
  • Day-to-day leadership support - In addition to strategic and longer-term planning support, assist with day-to-day support in topics such as associate engagement, team huddles and follow-ups, conference planning and support, talent and rotation planning, peer-review organization, town halls and preparing the SVP for speaking engagements.
  • Leadership effectiveness - Serve as a formal and informal gatekeeper to ensure that the SVP is spending their time on the right things. Help leaders carry out the team\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategic intent. Prepare meeting agendas, planning team off-sites, establishing communication patterns and cadences, fostering better interpersonal dynamics, etc. Identify opportunity areas and proactively resolve them.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 8 or more years of project progressive scope and/or leadership experience with relevant strategy experience
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to bridge the strategic vision with the tactical delivery and drive consensus accordingly
  • Proven track record of successful team leadership and development
  • Executive communications experience both written and verbal
  • Record of successful cross-functional collaboration on complex initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior and executive level audiences
  • Quickly assimilates new information and grasps new concepts, strong business and financial acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior and executive level audiences
  • Results and deadline driven, works well under high pressure situations, and comfortable dealing with and handling highly confidential information
Preferred Qualification
  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Prior Chief of Staff or similar strategic experience in a healthcare/health plan or finance setting

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$112,400 - $154,775 per year
