We are looking for a Strategic Supply Manager North- or Central America for the screening business line.

The screening business line within Metso: Outotec has the full end to end responsibility for all Screening related business within the company. SCB is organized in three regions together with various global functions. The regions are responsible for business execution, sales- and technical support. Strategic- and cross regional developments are done in global functions in collaboration with the regions. The Strategic Supply Manager is part of the global organization and reports to the head of Global Strategic Supply Development SCB.

In this role you are responsible for the development of global supply strategies for several procurement segments as well as the tactical responsibility for global vendors. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the sourcing related activities in various projects ( e.g. R&D).

Supply strategies shall be based on Screening Business Line Strategic priorities and regional requirements. The purpose is to increase profitability and support sustainable business growth by developing a cost competitive high-quality supplier base and driving improvements in availability and contractual terms.

For vendors where you have the tactical responsibility you will be responsible for developing that supply base, negotiating with vendors, yearly appraisals and improvement delivering performance. The tactical responsible will also have an important role in meeting our sustainability targets in the supply chain, ensuring the vendor base adhere to SBTi etc.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Sourcing

Defining sourcing segment strategies, in close collaboration with the regions and product management and translating this into roadmaps and concrete action plans
Building a competitive and responsive supplier base for the segment ( Drive new vendor approval )
Owning and monitoring segment performance (compliancy, cost, availability, and quality), and obtaining a solid contractual coverage
Monitoring agreed sourcing KPIs

Tactical Sourcing

Owning and monitoring supply base performance (compliancy, cost, availability, and quality), and obtaining contractual coverage for Global vendors within your responsibility
Drive new vendor item combinations for global vendors ( New item within current supply strategy)
Owning supplier relationships and performing SRM for global vendors
Holding supplier negotiations ( price and terms) with global vendors
Managing supplier assessments, consolidation, and approvals for the segment

R&D Project Sourcing

Define supply for product being developed.
Own the cost target of the R&D project
Challenge technology and product functions ensure that competitive cost and flexible supply can be reached according to project requirement specification.

Sustainability

Drive sustainability development withing the Screening Business Line supply chain.

To be successful in this challenging role, you should have:
High commercial acumen with a demonstrated track-record of delivering results either in a business or sourcing/procurement role.
Self-motivating with a drive to get things done.
Experience in contractual work and negotiations
Experienced in working with SAP.
Ability to influence and motivate change (incl. change management skills) in a global and decentralized organization.
Strong drive for results and proactive attitude; run tasks from idea generation to completion independently and in a structured way
Ability to think strategic but still be able act hands-on when required
Relevant preferred technical education supporting the role.
Fluent in English both written and spoken, additional languages are seen as a plus.
Ability to travel internationally regularly.
