Job Description

The Sr. Director of Strategic Projects will lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide strategic project portfolio management capabilities at Confie. This role will establish comprehensive portfolio oversight, drive organizational alignment on strategic initiatives, and ensure executive leadership has clear visibility into project performance and resource allocation across all business units.


Core Responsibilities





Portfolio Oversight & Performance Management


Monitor and analyze performance metrics across all projects within the strategic portfolio Develop and maintain comprehensive intake processes and portfolio management pipeline that serves executive leadership and supporting teams including IT, BIA, Human Resources, and Operations Establish standardized project health assessment frameworks and reporting mechanisms

Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership


Partner closely with executive leadership to identify specific use cases and address knowledge gaps in strategic project visibility Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between departments to ensure alignment on strategic priorities Serve as primary liaison between project teams and C-suite executives for strategic initiative update

Documentation & Process Management


Coordinate and manage all supporting project documentation and processes, including: Comprehensive project plans and timelines Risk assessment and mitigation strategies Stakeholder communication plans Budget tracking and financial reporting Project management artifacts and deliverables Ensure documentation standards meet audit and compliance requirements

Data Analytics & Reporting


Collect, analyze, and synthesize project performance data from multiple sources Provide regular reporting to project teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership Develop executive-level dashboards and KPI tracking for strategic initiatives Create predictive analytics for project success and resource optimization

Communication & Change Management


Maintain continuous communication channels for intake processes, project health status, resource impact assessments, and deliverable milestone tracking Lead organizational change management efforts related to portfolio management process improvements Facilitate executive briefings and board-level reporting on strategic project status

Experience & Performance


Results-Driven Leadership: Proven track record of delivering complex strategic initiatives on time and within budget Adaptability: Demonstrated flexibility in managing rapid organizational change while maintaining quality standards across multiple concurrent projects Strategic Thinking: Experience translating executive vision into actionable project portfolios with measurable outcomes

Communication & Collaboration Skills


Executive Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex project information to C-suite executives and board members Stakeholder Management: Advanced skills in managing relationships and influencing outcomes across all organizational levels Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience leading teams and initiatives that span multiple departments and business units

Strategic Leadership & Thought Leadership


Strategic Alignment: Deep understanding of how to align project portfolios with organizational strategy and priorities Innovation: Ability to identify and implement industry best practices in project portfolio management Thought Leadership: Capacity to become a recognized expert and influencer within the organization's strategic planning processes Continuous Improvement: Commitment to evolving processes and methodologies to enhance organizational effectiveness

Preferred Qualifications


Advanced degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field Professional certifications in Project Management (PMP, PgMP) or Portfolio Management Experience with enterprise project management platforms and portfolio management tools Background in financial services, insurance, or heavily regulated industries Experience managing portfolios with budgets exceeding $10M annually
