Job Description



Store Managers are accountable to lead, coach, and support your team to deliver the highest level of service and support for our customers. Leading a GNC store means managing the day-to-day retail operations, which includes managing your store's business results, managing product lifecycle, and equipping the store employees with the tools they need to succeed in their daily responsibilities. Store Managers play a vital role in representing the GNC brand and should have the aptitude to provide advanced product knowledge, and to help promote GNC's "Live Well" brand to our customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



Responsible for providing best in class customer services: Enjoys interacting with customers and is committed to helping them choose the right products, as well as making recommendations based on your overall product knowledge and understanding of their needs. Responsible for ensuring products are merchandised according to GNC standards but keeps an eye towards ensuring that products are easy to see and buy. Responsible for supporting the total shopping experience, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the customer relationship that leads to sales and repeat business, i.e. MYGNC Rewards. Ability to achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals, while helping sales associates to realize their sales potential. Ability to build strong teams, demonstrate leadership, and managerial skills, such as giving feedback to store associates regarding work performance on an on-going basis, recruiting, hiring, and performance management. Ability to learn new product trends, features, advantages and benefits, in addition to the training and development of associates with regard to product knowledge. Opening, closing and operating the retail facility. Including, but not limited to cash handling, inventory count and deposits according to GNC procedures. Responsible for ordering merchandise and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels, according to GNC guidelines to maximize sales and maintain store appearance. Responsible for seeking out and participating in community events that resonate with our consumers, i.e. fairs, fitness events, conferences, expos, and other public gatherings, in order to promote the organizations mission and initiatives. The ability to complete omni-channel orders timely and accurately in compliance with company guidelines. Ensure full understanding of all store communications including product information, advertising, promotions and other marketing initiatives. Ability to multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner. Protect company assets through effective inventory control and partnership with Loss Prevention to ensure adherence to GNCs policies and procedures. Additional duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Responsible for supervising a team of employees.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:



Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to areas of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individuals. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and department policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individuals. Identifies areas of improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:



Must be able to stand or walk for up to eight hours a day. Frequent reaching and bending and twisting -- below waist and above shoulders. Frequently required to use repetitive hand-to-finger motions and reach with hands and arms. Frequently lifting up to twenty pounds, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Push/pull up to 20 lbs. Ability to climb ladders, reach and bend. Work in temperatures ranging from 50 - 85 degrees -- especially in our stock room areas. Use of a computer up to 60 % of the time throughout the day.
Stores Managers are expected to work five (5) days / forty (40) hours a week and adhere to the guidelines below:

Managers of mall and strip center stores must work at least two nights during the week until closing, one weekend night and one other night. Strip center managers must also work a full shift on Saturdays. Mall managers are expected to work peak business days including weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Managers are expected to work a minimum of one full Sunday per month. Managers of downtown stores must also work during the lunch hour of 11am to 2pm Monday through Friday. Downtown store managers must also work one night per week until closing if the store is open in the evening. Managers of downtown stores are not required to work Saturdays. Managers are expected to work all major U.S. holidays that the store is open.

QUALIFICATIONS:



High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred; 2+ years of retail sales and store management experience in a specialty retail environment; Prior managerial/supervisory experience preferred Excellent Customer Service skills required; Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; Strong communication and team building skills; Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting Ability to work overtime as necessary
