Job Description
A Dollar Tree store manager is responsible for
overseeing daily operations, leading and training staff, managing inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service to drive sales and profitability
. Key duties include hiring, scheduling, and developing employees; maintaining store standards and merchandising; performing financial management tasks like budgeting and expense tracking; and safeguarding company assets.
Core responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise store associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Operational Oversight:
Manage day-to-day store activities, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, and ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained store.Sales and Customer Service:
Implement strategies to achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction by providing a positive shopping experience.Inventory and Merchandising:
Manage inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and ensure proper product placement and appealing merchandising according to company standards.Financial Management:
Monitor budgets, manage expenses, and handle financial reporting to track store performance and maximize profitability.Asset Protection:
Safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.Required skills and qualifications
Retail management experience is often preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. Ability to focus on results and build strong team relationships is necessary. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, which can include regularly lifting up to 40 lbs. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
