In this Store Manager role, reporting to the Regional Manager for Full Price stores, you will be responsible for growing our brand awareness in this new market, developing a strong business and leading a team of fashion enthusiasts, with a focus on client experience.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (Sales / Profit)

  • Build store strategy and annual action plan that indicates roadmap of expected sales and
financial achievements.
  • Maintain a full understanding of the business strategy and action to achieve sales and financial goals and targets.
  • Communicate and track store sales and Key Performance Indicators (KPI\'s) providing context and rationale for business sales results.
  • Review stores schedules weekly with management to ensure appropriate coverage and payroll management.
  • Ensure the store achieves expense budgets through monitoring and controlling all of the store\'s controllable expense items.
  • Review profit and loss reports monthly with Area Manager and develop action plans to address expense controls as needed.
  • Participate in all aspects of store operations, including recruiting and training store
associates, co-coordinating store logistics, and working with store team to ensure store is fully operational.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
  • Act as an ambassador of the Diesel brand by exhibiting pride through positive demeanor, body language and personal presentation
  • Foster an inspiring environment for engagement and learning that empowers people to realize their full potential.
  • Responsible for recruitment of all store personnel.
  • Ensure all positions are filled with qualified personnel in a timely manner.
  • Ensure store management is trained in all aspects of their job responsibilities and focused on their store\'s business objectives and strategies.
  • Work with the Learning and Development Manager in the development of Training and Hu-man Resources programs to develop the store teams.
  • Train store management in new and existing policies and procedures.
  • Identify strengths and areas of development of store personnel.
  • Promote and encourage the professional development of store personnel by using tools
provided by Head Office.
  • Draft and provide personnel reviews and performance appraisals following Head Office
direction.
  • Use discretion to delegate to Assistant Store Managers the responsibility to draft and carry out personnel reviews and performance appraisals following Head Office direction.
  • Ensure that all store personnel reviews and performance appraisals are carried out in a timely manner following Head Office direction.
  • Ensure an adequate succession plan for each member of management and/or management position.
  • Hold regular touch base meetings with direct reports.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Create a proactive premium selling culture that focuses on building long-term relationships turning walk-in customers into repeat clients.
  • Foster an inspiring environment where service excellence values are a top priority during
training and one-on-one coaching.
  • Develop Assistant Store Management to identify customer service priorities and create actions to achieve business results.
  • Perform regular floor walk-throughs to assess opportunities within the floor and develop
appropriate action plans with management team.

CATEGORY MANAGEMENT / VISUALS
  • Plan and execute all visual merchandising floor and window moves and installations aligned with company guidelines and in partnership with Visual Area Managers.
  • Analyze business performance and develop weekly/monthly action plans to improve business results.
  • Ensure all brand presentation is maintained to Diesel standards.
  • Communicate store product flow issues and product needs to in-store Visual Merchandiser.
  • Perform regular floor(s) overviews within floor(s) to identify merchandising opportunities and develop appropriate action plans with the in-store Visual Merchandiser and Regional Visual Merchandiser.
  • Ensure all visual merchandising guidelines are implemented and followed at all times.
  • Set priorities and expectations for all delivery installations.
  • Meet with Visual Associate and Regional Visual Manager to debrief and complete installation recap.
  • Communicate any visual merchandising needs to the Regional Visual Manager, including
challenges, solutions, POP/IC tools and mannequin styling needs.
  • Conduct weekly Touch Bases with Visual Associate to address store pictures, weekly to do\'s, completed projects and important upcoming dates and projects.
  • Providing training and development on visual merchandising tools, standards, and
expectations.
  • Hold visual merchandising related store meetings and draft visual merchandising email
communications.

OPERATIONS
  • Ensure implementation of all store operations policies and procedures.
  • Ensure schedules have sufficient floor coverage and support the needs of the business to achieve business objectives and maximize peak selling hours.
  • Partner with logistics and buying team to ensure appropriate assortment for the store.
  • Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports to the Area Manager.
  • Maintain inventory management functions and ensure store loss prevention goals are met.
  • Ensure Management team is properly organized and departments of responsibility are proper-ly assigned to complete all necessary store functions.
  • Ensure a well maintained, clean and organized store at all times.
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained on all POS duties and hold employees
accountable as needed.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
  • Interview and select direct reports and team members.
  • Propose pay rates and work schedules.
  • Train team on work practices and procedures.
  • Ensures a proper induction and onboarding plan is in place for all new hires.
  • Maintain the safety and security of employees and property in the store.
  • Appraise direct reports\' and team members\' performance on an annual and day-to-day basis.
  • Recommend promotions as appropriate to Human Resources.
  • Ensure adherence to all company personnel development policies.
  • Ensure that all touch bases, 30/60/90 day reviews and annual performance reviews are car-ried out per company guidelines.
  • Draft and carry out touch bases, 30/60/90 day reviews and annual performance reviews per company guidelines.
  • Use discretion to delegate to Assistant Store Managers the responsibility to draft and carry out touch bases, 30/60/90 day reviews and annual performance reviews per company guidelines.
  • Maintain records on employee performance as required to enable effective supervision and control of team.
  • Discipline and manage the performance of direct employees with substandard performance.
  • Propose employee status changes, up to and including employment termination, to Human Resources for areas of ongoing unsatisfactory performance or gross misconduct, in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Receive and resolve employee concerns and complaints in conjunction with Human Resources.
LOSS PREVENTION
  • Communicate and provide training on all Diesel retail policies and procedures to all members of the management team and ensure compliance with the policies.
  • Perform regular floor(s) overviews within floor(s) to identify loss prevention issues and devel-op appropriate action plans with management team.
  • Hold employees accountable for inventory control and stock loss.
  • Create store action plan if store inventory results are below company goals.
  • Prepare, plan, and execute physical inventory.
STORE MAINTENANCE
  • Develop and communicate Diesel policies and directives to management team to ensure all
aspects of store operations are performed in accordance with Diesel retail policies and
directives.
  • Perform regular floor(s) overviews within floor(s) to identify maintenance and cleaning
issues and develop appropriate action plans with management team.

POLICY AND LAW COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure that the store is legally compliant with all local health and safety laws.
  • Ensure that store personnel practices are legally compliant and follow the terms and condi-tions of employment, respect work time regulations, and comply with equal opportunity laws.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and customers.
BRAND PROTECTION
  • Consistently promote and represent Diesel brand values at all times.
  • Ensure all staff members adhere to dress code policies and represent the Diesel image continuously as directed from Home Office.
  • Ensure that all promotions and PR activities are implemented consistent with the Home Office guidelines.
  • Plan and implement merchant marketing actions to promote brand value and client loyalty.
  • Ensure company confidential information is not shared or distributed unless directed by Home Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The Store Manager supervises employees who do the following and on occasion may be required to assist, and thus the Store Manager must also have the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for up to eight hours in a workday.
  • Lift and or move up to 50 to 60 pounds.
  • Engage in the following activities: Bending,
stooping, reaching, twisting, grasping, pinching, reaching/lifting above shoulders in a
repetitive manner; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and work with cleaning solutions.
