The Store Manager is responsible for supervising employees and running the store at a profit. To attract clientele and move merchandise, managers make sure that their store offers products and services that satisfy the needs and desires of their customers. The business aspects of a store can be divided into four categories: merchandising, which includes buying and selling; store operations, which includes hiring personnel and receiving goods; accounting and bookkeeping; and advertising and promotion.
Duties
Manage and motivate a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales volumes to maximize profits
Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning
Use computer software to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning
Responsible for staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing/organizing training and development
Ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met
Resolve health and safety, legal and security issues
Respond to customer complaints and comments
Organize special promotions, displays and events
Conduct weekly store meetings
Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues
Maintain awareness of market trends in the rental industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
Initiate changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market
Insure that in-store marketing programs such as Facebook, gathering emails, and referral programs are followed to company standards
Maintain Professional dress and appearance at all times
Qualifications
Highly motivated leader capable of motivating others to achieve company goals
Superior customer service skills
Collection and Sales experience preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Familiarity with computers and various software programs
Strong math and analytical skills
Good planning and organizational skills
Must have a valid driver's license and pass a driving check
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a management position
