Countertop Installer & Polisher - Granite, Quartz, Quartzite,

7:30 am - 4:00 pm / OT on Saturdays 8a-11a (optional)

Summary:

This position is responsible for preparing stone countertops (marble/granite/quartz/etc.) material for installation. This includes using hand tools and hand-held power tools to sand, grind and polish material. In addition, assisting in installation of the finished stone countertop(s). This position is great if you are looking for a trade job with reliable and steady work, 40 hours weekly. No prior skills needed. Experience using power tools is beneficial, accurately able to read a tape measure is very important. On job training and optional overtime.

Essential Responsibilities:

Grind, sand, clean, or polish granite to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools

Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met

Fill fissures or natural voids in granite with mixture that matches the stone color

Install completed material

Maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools

Operate machines and hand tools

Remove completed material from equipment or work tables

Wash dust from granite, using hoses

Assist in moving slabs and general maintenance

Operate within all company safety guidelines

Perform other job-related duties as assigned to or as operational needs dictate

Regular reliable attendance is an essential requirement for the job

Qualifications:

Possession of a diploma and six months of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Ability to understand departmental operations and procedures

Operate hand tools and hand-held power tools effectively

Must be detail oriented

Successfully communicate in a team environment

Valid driver's license and ability to travel

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 lbs. of force, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Additional physical requirements include regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Exposed to both indoor and outdoor elements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 42 per week
